Description

Deliciously soft and sweet Maple Bars topped with a glossy maple glaze, perfect for any gathering.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1/2 cup unsalted butter
  • 1 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup pure maple syrup
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 cup powdered sugar (for glaze)
  • 1/4 cup maple syrup (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line it with parchment paper.
  2. In a large bowl, mix the butter and sugar until creamy and fluffy.
  3. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the maple syrup.
  4. In another bowl, combine the flour, baking powder, and salt. Gradually add to the wet mixture, alternating with the milk. Mix until just combined.
  5. Spread the batter evenly into the prepared pan and tap to remove air bubbles.
  6. Bake for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let it cool.
  7. For the glaze, whisk together the powdered sugar and maple syrup until smooth and drizzle over the cooled bars.
  8. Let the glaze set before cutting into squares. Enjoy!

Notes

Room temperature ingredients work best for a smooth batter. Avoid overmixing to keep the texture tender.
